Dec 13, 2022: Five Assam girls were rescued from a suspected human trafficking attempt in New Delhi.
According to sources, the rescued girls are from the Rongapar area of Sonitpur district, Assam.
The girls have been missing since September of this year, according to reports.
The matter came to light after their families filed a missing complaint at Rongapar police station.
The girls were rescued from various locations by Assam police and their Delhi counterparts along with volunteer organisations.
According to information, the girls were rescued from Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Haryana and South Delhi.
Meanwhile, one person has been arrested in connection with the case, identified as Bhadra Orang.
Further Investigation is being conducted.
