World Poetry Day was celebrated today at Subansiri College, Gogamukh district in Lakhimpur.
Former Executive Member of Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Mahendra Daimary; Vice President of Lakhimpur District Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Dilip Kumar Swargiary and General Secretary of Dhemaji District Bodo Primary School Organization, Manoj Kumar Swargiary, were among those in attendance.
Every year on March 21, people throughout the world celebrate World Poetry Day to honour a form of language with which they can all identify.
World Poetry Day was established by UNESCO in 1999 with the mission of “promoting linguistic diversity via poetry expression and expanding the possibility for endangered languages to be heard.”
