Lovlina Borgohain added fourth gold to India’s tally at the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship in New Delhi on Sunday, March 26.
The Olympic bronze medalist from Tokyo put on a strong performance in the 70-75kg finals, defeating Australia’s Caitlin Anne Parker with a 5-2 split decision win after a review.
This is Lovlina’s first gold medal at the competition after settling for bronze in 2018 and 2019 edition.
Meanwhile, Nikhat Zareen (48-50 kg) had earlier defeated Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Tam to win her second Worlds gold medal.
Nitu Ghanghas (45-48 kg) and Saweety Boora (75-81 kg) also won gold after defeating their respective opponents in the finals on Saturday.
