CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on January 13 inaugurated the renovated historic Jorphukuri Park at Uzanbazar in Guwahati.
The park was built at a cost of Rs. 3.23 crore by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA). Along with the park, the historic Jorpukhuri of Uggratara Devalay has been renovated.
He also directed the administration to keep an eye on the area so that the area couldn’t turn into a commercial zone.
Meanwhile, the park has been constructed in order to attract tourists to the area. Furthermore, the ponds have been cleaned, and the administration has taken steps to protect the pond’s fish.
