According to officials, the body of a student was found in Assam’s Jonai on Monday.
According to police, it appeared to be a homicide at first glance. They claimed that the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at Udaypur in Jonai.
Kaling Mayang, a student at Lisang Junior College in Jonai, Assam’s Dhemaji district, was identified as the deceased.
According to reports, the victim was returning home after attending the state-wide ‘Raas’ festival when he was attacked and killed.
Officials stated that they recovered the bloodied body. In the meantime, one person has been detained by police in connection with the case following preliminary investigations.
Officials have identified the accused as Metin Patir. He was taken in for interrogation, and further action will be announced soon, they said.
