Kokrajhar: BTR organized a Candle Light Prayer as a gesture of solidarity to honor the victims of the recent fratricidal clashes in Manipur.
The event, which took place on May 9 in the premises of BTC Secretariat, was attended by many dignitaries, senior officials of BTC, and citizens of Bodoland.
At the Candle Light Prayer, CEM Pramod Boro appealed to the Kuki and Meitei communities to work towards fostering understanding and amity for the larger interests of Manipur and the North East region.
He highlighted that conflict only brings more sorrow and that the ancient traditions of the region are rooted in peaceful coexistence and shared civilizational values that have made the North East one of India’s most beautiful regions.
The CEM led the gathering in observing a minute’s silence to pay their respects to the memory of the departed souls. The event served as a reminder of the crucial importance of peace and harmony in the region.
