Over 11,000 Bihu performers in Assam, India have set two new Guinness World Records for their impressive display of traditional dance and drumming.
The performers were greeted by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday.
After receiving their certificates from Guinness Book authorities, Sarma took to Twitter to congratulate the group for their impressive accomplishment.
He also emphasized the importance of preserving Assam’s cultural heritage, stating: “We are always committed to protect the self-respect and heritage of Assam.”
The Bihu performers’ achievement has also attracted national attention, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending a performance on Friday at Guwahati’s Sarusajai stadium.
