Dec 19, 2022: Sargam Koushal, representing India, was crowned Mrs World on December 18, 2022, at a gala event in Las Vegas. After 21 long years, she triumphantly reclaimed the throne.
Mrs Kaushal defeated competitors from 63 countries to reclaim the crown for India. She won the title by defeating Mrs Polynesia.
Sargam wife of an Indian navy officer, is from Jammu and Kashmir and previously worked as a teacher in Vizag. She is also a content writer, model and painter.
Prior to this, on June 15th this year, she defeated 51 contestants from across the country and was crowned Ms. India World at an event at the NESCO Center in Goregaon, Mumbai, which paved her way to Las Vegas to represent India in “Mrs World 2022” pageant.
Before Sargam, the last time an Indian won the Mrs World title was in 2001, when Dr Aditi Govitrikar took the title, and she is now a judge for Mrs India Inc. 2022-23.
Mrs World is the first beauty pageant for married women, conceived in 1984 and is descended from the Mrs. America contest. This contest was formerly known as Mrs. Woman of the World. It only became known as Mrs. World in 1988.
