New Delhi: Lona Sonowal, a talented class IX student from Batgharia Higher Secondary School in Dhemaji, has emerged victorious at the 66th National School Sports Festival (Under 19) held in New Delhi.
Competing in the weightlifting 45 kg category, Lona clinched the prestigious silver medal.
Her remarkable achievement was made possible thanks to the guidance and support of Shri Anup Konwar, Shri Shantanu Gogoi, and Smt. Parbati Tamang.
The Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, took to his official page to express his heartfelt congratulations to Lona Sonowal and share her remarkable achievement with the public.
Education Minister Ranoj Pegu wrote, “Lona Sonowal, a student of Dhemaji’s Batghariya Higher Secondary School, has been able to win the silver medal in the 66th National School Sports Festival (U19 years) weightlifting competition started in New Delhi today. Hearty congratulations to Lona, who brought pride to Assam along with his region and school with an unparalleled performance.”
