Nov 14, 2022: On the ceremony of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Nehru and recalled his contributions to the country.
Mr. Nehru, who was born in 1889, served as the country’s first prime minister. He died in office in 1964′ and remains the India’s longest-serving prime minister.
Every year on November 14th, Children’s Day is observed as a tribute to India’s first Prime Minister.
Nehru was affectionately called ‘Chacha Nehru,’ was known for emphasising the importance of showing love and affection to children.
“On his birth anniversary, tributes to our former PM Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Ji. We also recall his contribution to our nation,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
