Kokrajhar: Preparations are underway for the 62nd session of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) and the 48th session of Kokrajhar district BSS, which will be held from February 23 to February 26 at Rani Khalaishree Fwthar, near Swrmanga River, Patgaon in Kokrajhar district.
During the historic session, a new executive body of the session will be formed.
Lawrence Islary, MLA and president of the reception committee, told reporters that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other prominent personalities from various states and Nepal have been invited.
MLA Islary further said that 500 stalls had been made for the book fair and exhibition, and approach roads were being built. He urged the public to attend the historic session and help make it a huge success.
Over 6,000 delegates from the states of Assam and West Bengal, as well as Nepal, are expected to attend the session.
There will also be cultural performances from different parts of BTC, Assam, and West Bengal.
A meeting of the reception committee was also held on Tuesday with Lawrence Iswary, MLA and president of the reception committee in the chair.
The meeting received progress reports from 19 subcommittees.
