Feb 14, 2023:
While the rest of the world celebrates Valentine’s Day on February 14, India has observed the day as Black Day since 2019 as Army jawans were killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama.
On this day in the year 2019, at least 40 CRPF were killed in one of the deadliest terror attacks that took place in Pulwama.
Among the 40 jawans, one martyr, Maneshwar Basumatary of 98th Battalion of CRPF, was from Tamulpur in Assam.
The deadliest attack also injured several jawans, including one from Assam’s Bongaigaon, Pabitra Barman, who suffered minor injuries.
As today marks the fourth year of Pulwama attack, several ministers paid tribute to the martyrs in the attack.
