Kokrajhar: Organized by Women and Child Development department Kokrajhar and District Hub for Empowerment of Women, the event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Subhram Aditya Bora, officials from Line departments, Health, Labour and Child Welfare Committee.
The campaign’s main goal is to check dropout rates among girls in secondary and higher secondary levels while also raising awareness about safe menstrual hygiene management.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Subhram Aditya Bora also administered a pledge to the District and Sectoral officers to promote ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ as a part of ongoing week-long National girl child week under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign. The ADC also launched a signature campaign to strengthen the BBBP campaign throughtout the district.
Highlighting the importance of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign, Mr. Bora asked the participants to encourage the people to educate girl children, care for their good health and ensure social and economic uplift of women.
The scheme is being operated/ implemented as part of Mission Shakti’s Sambal sub-scheme. At District level, the Mission Shakti dedicated PMU, District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) with financial assistance from MWCD will provide technical/manpower support to the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao machinery.
