Kojrajhar: The 10th Baokhungri Festival 2023 sports programme will kick off with the flag-off for the marathon race on April 12, which will see participants from all over the region compete for the top prize.
This is followed by the flag hoisting of an indigenous game, which is an important part of the cultural heritage of Assam.
A homage will also be paid to the late Chanakya Brahma, and the games will be officially inaugurated, kicking off a thrilling week of sporting action.
Besides the marathon, the festival also offers other thrilling competitions that are sure to get the adrenaline pumping – including a cycling competition and a hills trekking competition.
After days of intense competition, the festival will come to a close with the distribution of prizes to the winners of each event.
In addition to the sports events, the Baokhungri Festival also features a range of cultural activities, including traditional dances, music performances, and local food stalls.
