Dec 18, 2022: Assam Skill Development and Employment Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah announced on December 17 that the state government will construct 16 new Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). He stated that the state government has decided to build an ITI in each of the state’s blocks.
The Department of Technical Entrepreneurship Development has received special importance from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The state government has also launched a number of skill development initiatives. State Skill Development and Employment Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah made the remarks while inaugurating the Advanced Electrical and Solar Training Centre at the Jorhat Industrial Training Institute.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at Jorhat ITI, the minister said ”The state government has allocated Rs 300 crore for infrastructure development in the budget so that ITIs can be developed as well as old pieces of equipment are replaced.”
The Minister also stated that the state government has implemented various skill development programmes.
He further said that every block of Assam is being considered to give skill education because the future of Assam’s new generation is hidden among these ITIs.
