Dec 21, 2022: The historic Rabindra Bhawan, which has long been a centre for all performing arts and has hosted far too many plays and culturally oriented events and programmes throughout the years, will be demolished and rebuilt.
It is located at Ambari in Guwahati.
The state art gallery and the city’s cultural hub reportedly have been undergoing renovations for a while.
The centre will be rebuilt by the state government, but with greater facilities. Currently, the general public cannot enter Rabindra Bhawan.
Rebuilding of Rabindra Bhawan will reportedly be done by the Assam government’s cultural department.
