Kokrajhar to host Group 3 matches for 76th Men’s National Football Championship for the Hero Santosh Trophy

Dec 22, 2022: The 76th Senior Men’s National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy will be held in Kokrajhar, Assam, according to the All-India Football Federation (AIFF).

The matches of the tournament will be played from December 28th, 2022, to January 5th, 2023, at SAI Stadium and Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) Playground in Kokrajhar.

Previously, Group I was hosted in Delhi (December 23, 2022 – December 31, 2022), while Groups II and V was hosted in Kozhikode, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and Kerala, respectively.

The states of the country, as well as some government organizations, compete in the Santosh Trophy. The trophy bears the name of the great Maharaja Sir Manmatha Nath Roy Chowdhary of Santosh, now situated in Bangladesh.

The Group III match, who features three teams from the Northeast, is preparing for the upcoming Senior National Football Game. The teams of the tournament are Goa, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland.
