The Bharat Gaurav Deluxe Tourist Train, which is scheduled to leave the New Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on March 21, has been introduced by the Indian Railways (IRCTC). The train will pass through Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura, and Meghalaya on its 15-day North East Circuit.
The Bharat Gaurav scheme was introduced by the Indian Railways in 2021 to boost domestic tourism and draw visitors from around the globe. The program encourages “theme-based” rail services that will be managed by independent parties.
“North East Discovery: Beyond Guwahati” serves as the theme for the North East circuit.
The 156 travellers who can fit aboard the Deluxe AC trains can enjoy AC 1 and AC 2 tiers of air conditioning. The starting price for a ticket is Rs 1,06,990 for an AC 2 Tier passenger, Rs 1,31,990 for an AC 1 cabin, and Rs 1,49,290 for an AC 1 coupe. The ticket includes train travel, hotel stays, all vegetarian meals, transportation expenses, local sightseeing fees, travel insurance, and other expenses.
IRCTC, PayTm, and Razorpay payment gateways have joined to provide tourists the option of paying for their vacations via EMIs.
Eleven locations are included in the train’s trip route: Guwahati, Sivasagar, Jorhat, and Kaziranga in Assam; Unakoti, Agartala, and Udaipur in Tripura; Dimapur and Kohima in Nagaland; and Shillong and Cherapunji in Meghalaya. From Delhi, Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla, Itawah, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi, passengers may board and disembark.
Private parties with the authority to use Indian Railways’ rail infrastructure are running the Bharat Gaurav express trains in an effort to highlight India’s rich history and cultural heritage. In June of last year, the first Bharat Gaurav train departed from Coimbatore.
