Nov 16, 2022: Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood actor, has begun filming for her upcoming film Emergency in Assam.
The actor known for her controversial remarks had recently visited different locations in Assam before starting the shoot recently.
She visited places like Kaziranga and Karbi Anglong to scout locations for the shoot.
The actor captioned a photo she posted on Instagram stories, “Ok, let’s do this. Commencing Assam schedule… #Emergency”.
The film will be based on the real-life Emergency in India back in 1975, and she will play the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
According to reports, Ranaut herself wrote the script for the film.
The film will also feature veteran actor Anupam Kher in the role of revolutionary leader J P Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, and Mahima Chaudhry as author-cultural activist Pupul Jayakar.
