Lovlina Wins Gold and Ankushita takes Silver in Women’s Boxing Championship

The Elite Women’s National Boxing Championship is one of the country’s major boxing competitions for women. The 6th edition of this national sporting event was held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh’s capital. The event began on December 19 and ended on December 26.

Assam’s Lovlina Borgohain wins Gold Medal in the Middle Weight Category of the completion. She defeated world youth champion Arundhati Choudhary in the Women’s National Boxing Championship final on Monday night, December 26. The score stood at 5-0 in the 75kg final.

Ankushita Boro of Assam, on the other hand, wins silver in the Welter Weight category. She was defeated by Manju Bamboria of Madhya Pradesh In the 66kg weight category. The score stood at 4-1.

The medals were presented to the players in the presence of Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur and Boxing Federation of India officials.
