Dec 2, 2022: Bhind Block Education Officer Sudama Singh Bhadoria handed over the charge of BEO to Ramesh Srivas, a peon working in his office, for a day in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind.
The office staff welcomed Shrivas with garland when he took charge of the office.
The move was reminiscent of the Bollywood movie Nayak, in which the protagonist, played by actor Anil Kapoor, became Maharashtra’s Chief Minister for a day.
After being appointed as the BEO, Ramesh Srivas inspected two schools within a day, checked records and also issued an order that whoever is found littering, eating gutka in schools and offices will be fined Rs 200.
During his one-day stint as BEO, Shrivas inspected the school facilities and interacted with the students.
When asked about his experience, Shrivas stated that he will retire next year but has never witnessed anything like it in his 37 years of service. He expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to the BEO.
Meantime, BEO Sudama Singh stated that he wanted other office employees to better understand the dignity of the position and the responsibility that comes with it. His move was appreciated by other staff as well.
