Dec 3, 2022, Barpeta: On December 2, an inmate died in the Barpeta District Jail under mysterious circumstances. Omar Ali has been identified as the deceased.
According to reports, Omar Ali of Ramapara was convicted and imprisoned for seven years in the Barpeta district jail.
The inmate’s body is currently being held in the morgue of Barpeta Medical College Hospital. The cause of the prisoner’s death, however, has yet to be revealed.
Barpeta police have started an investigation after a complaint was filed alleging that the prisoner’s death was unnatural.
Police stated that an investigation is underway to determine the true cause of the prisoner’s death as well as other pertinent information in the case.
