Kamrup: Assam’s Department of Environment & Forest recently organized a significant event called ‘AMRIT PLANTATION’ in Chandubi, Kamrup. The event garnered active participation from distinguished personalities, including the Assam Governor, Gulab Chand Kataria, and the Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The event’s primary objective was to inspire citizens to contribute towards a greener environment by planting trees and expanding the green cover throughout the state.
The ‘AMRIT PLANTATION’ event emphasized the importance of trees in promoting ecological balance and sustainable living.
The program witnessed the planting of various species of trees, ranging from fruit-bearing trees to medicinal and ornamental plants. This diverse selection showcased the collective effort to enhance the greenery and foster a harmonious coexistence with nature.
The event saw the enthusiastic participation of prominent figures, including ministers, MLAs, EMs of the Council, the Leader of the Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly, senior government officers, local public representatives, and students.
