Kokrajhar: The Bodoland Book Fair 2023 started on January 5th at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Chandamari, Kokrajhar.
The event was inaugurated by Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, Deputy Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Region, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The event was organised in conjunction with the 2nd edition of Kokrajhar LitFest 2023 (Kokrajhar Literary Festival) by the government of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
Gobinda Chandra Basumatary wished the event great success in his speech.
“Book fair is a way to bring a healthy environment of book reading as well as writing environment among the citizens,” said Basumatary.
He expressed his opinion to create an environment for healthy welfare and integration among society by holding book fairs throughout the region and called on all citizens of the region to come and participate in order to make the book fair more welcoming.
The seven-day book fair, which began on Thursday, features approximately 60 book stalls from BTR and Guwahati, as well as Delhi, Goa, and Kolkata.
BTR executive members Dr Nilut Swargiary, Daobaisa Boro, MLA Lawrence Islary, Kokrajhar deputy commissioner Varnali Deka, IAS, and ABSU president Dipen Boro were present.
