India has won the inaugural ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup final on January 29. They defeated England by 7 wickets to win the World Cup.
India was well in control despite losing Shafali Verma and Shweta Sehrawat by just the fourth over.
The duo of Soumya Tiwari and Gongadi Trisha settled things down with an excellent and composed partnership. Trisha went for glory and was cleaned up by Alexa Stonehouse after the pair got within one hit of the target.
In the next over bowled by Barker, Tiwari scored a single to finish with an unbeaten 24* from 37 balls, exactly what her team needed on the big stage.
