KOKRAJHAR: BTR Government took a significant step towards protecting the rights of indigenous people by distributing Land Title Certificates under the Forest Rights Act, 2006.
A ceremonial programme was held today at Patgaon Govt. HS School in Kokrajhar to distribute the certificates to beneficiaries of the Haltugaon and Kachugaok Forest Divisions.
In total, 7,144 beneficiaries were granted land certificates for 25,500 bighas of land.
The BTR Government has prioritized safeguarding the interests of indigenous people and is taking all necessary measures for their welfare.
The ceremony was attended by several officials, including BTR CEM Pramod Boro, EMs Ranjit Basumatary, Reo Reoa Narzihary, Rakesh Brahma, MLAs Lawrence Islary and Jiron Basumatary, and DC Kokrajhar.
