Guwahati: The Kokrajhar team showcased extraordinary skill and determination as they emerged victorious at the 3rd All Assam Kalaripayattu Championship 2023, held on May 30, 2023, at the DTRP Indoor Nehru Stadium in Guwahati.
The championship, organized under the auspices of the Indian Kalaripayattu Federation, which is recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. This event was also included as part of the 37th National Games, which were held in Goa.
The competition drew active participation from teams representing different states. However, it was the Kokrajhar team emerging as the 1st team, followed by Guwahati in 2nd place and Tinsukia in 3rd place.
The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Paramananda Rajbongshi, MLA and President of the Kalaripayattu Association of Assam.
The Kokrajhar District team, comprising 17 talented players, emerged victorious, securing 7 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals.
Bilu Kr. Brahma, the General Secretary of the Kalaripayattu Association of Assam, enthusiastically shared the news of the team’s outstanding achievements.
