Kokrajhar: Apurna Narzary from Kokrajhar district to lead the National Team in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers Round 1 in Vietnam.
When Head Coach Maymol Rocky informed Apurna that she would lead the team, the girl remained speechless for a minute.
“For a few seconds, I could not believe my ears. It was a huge honour for me. I felt proud when Maymol madam told me about my appointment. At the same time, the first thing that came to my mind was that it was a big responsibility and we should make every effort to qualify for the next round,” Apurna Narzary said.
Round 1 of the Qualifiers will be played on March 4-12, 2023. Apart from India, the other three teams in the group are Vietnam, Singapore, and Indonesia. India will face Singapore in the first match on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 1.30 p.m. IST.
