President Droupadi Murmu on April 7 flagged off the Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition 2023, which is being organised by the Assam Mountaineering Association. The event was held at Guwahati, and the President conveyed her best wishes to the team for the success of their expedition.
President Droupadi Murmu also attended a function to mark the completion of 75 years of the Gauhati High Court.
On the occasion, she launched a new mobile app called ‘Bhoroxa,’ designed for the safety of women and elderly people.
President Murmu congratulated all individuals associated with the High Court on the occasion of completion of 75 years of its service to justice and jurisprudence and said that the court holds a unique place in India’s judicial landscape.
Speaking to the gathering at the platinum jubilee celebrations, Droupadi Murmu said, “The Gauhati High Court holds a unique place in India’s judicial landscape. After its inception in 1948, it had jurisdiction over seven states for more than six decades and still has jurisdiction over four states. It has established a distinct identity for itself by producing a number of legal luminaries. It has also received attention for delivering several landmark decisions. She expressed confidence that the Gauhati High Court would continue to serve the people in the same manner in the years to come.”
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court, Sudhanshu Dhulia, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
