Nov 16, 2022: Poland is on high alert after the deaths of two people when the missiles landed on Tuesday.
As per Polish media, the strike took place in a grain drying area in Przewodów, a village near the Ukrainian border.
According to Western media, two stray rockets that landed in Poland were launched by Russia.
As stated by the Polish government, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau summoned the Russian ambassador and “demanded immediate detailed explanations.”
Shortly after the incident, the country has placed its military on high alert while officials scrutinise.
Following the release of the incident report, US President Joe Biden assured his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda of “full US support for and assistance with Poland’s investigation.”
It may be mentioned, Poland is protected by NATO’s commitment to collective defence. However, the response by the NATO countries will be based on whether the incident was accidental or intentional.
