Rajani Swargiary chosen for “Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Cultural Award 2023”

Kokrajhar: The Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Cultural Award is one of the most prestigious cultural awards in the Bodo community, and its 2023 recipient has been selected. On March 20th, the jury committee met at the secretary’s chamber in the Cultural Affairs Department of BTC, Kokrajhar, to discuss and scrutinize the profiles of the nominees and make a decision.

The meeting was presided over by Dithaka Nanda Hazarika, ACS, Secretary, Cultural Affairs Department, BTC, Kokrajhar, and Pami Brahma, ACS, Joint Secretary cum CHD, Cultural Affairs Department, BTC, Kokrajhar, explained the purpose of the meeting. After a frank discussion and careful evaluation of the nominees’ profiles, the meeting unanimously decided to recommend Rajani Swargiary from Lechera village in Baksa district as the recipient of the prestigious award.

Rajani Swargiary is a well-known Bodo artist who has dedicated his life to preserving and promoting Bodo culture. He has made significant contributions to the Bodo community through his work as an artist, musician, and cultural activist. His tireless efforts to promote Bodo culture and traditions have made him a worthy candidate for the Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Cultural Award.

The meeting concluded with the chair’s vote of thanks. In attendance were Sri Dithaka Nanda Hazarika, ACS, Secretary, Cultural Affairs Department, BTC, Kokrajhar; Mrs. Pami Brahma, ACS, Joint Secretary cum CHD, Cultural Affairs Department, BTC, Kokrajhar; Sri Bijitgiri Basumatary, Artist, Jury Committee Member; and Sri Rupendra Nath Basumatary, Artist, Jury Committee Member.

The Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Cultural Award is a celebration of the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the Bodo community, and Rajani Swargiary is a fitting recipient for this prestigious honor. His contributions to Bodo culture and traditions have been invaluable, and his work has inspired and influenced countless individuals.
