Dec 3, 2023: Six-time record holder Asian medalist Shiva Thapa progressed to the quarter-finals of their respective weight categories at the Men’s National Boxing Championships 2022 in Hisar on Monday.
Assam’s Shiva Thapa (63.5kg) won a unanimous decision over Delhi’s Jaswinder Singh in the round of 16.
The 2015 world championships bronze medallist will face the winner of the bout between Sanu T of Kerala and Ashutosh Kumar of Punjab in his quarter-final on Wednesday.
A total of 386 boxers across 13 different weight categories are participating in the Men’s National Boxing Championships 2022.
