Kokrajhar: A Livelihood Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) concluded on Thursday at Saraibil under Kachugaon Development Block in Kokrajhar district.
The valedictory function was graced by Ratan Mani Soram, DDM, NABARD, Kokrajhar, Joytirmoi Kalita, Branch Manager of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Kachugaon Branch, Ghanakanta Brahma, president of Green Leaf NGO and Paritran Narzary, master trainer on mushroom.
On the occasion, certificates were distributed to all the trainees and a Mushroom and vermi composting demonstration unit were also inaugurated.
The LEDP training was conducted by Green Leaf NGO with financial assistance from NABARD, Assam Regional Office, Guwahati. The training programme began on January 25 and concluded on March 1.
Altogether 90 matured SHGs members were trained on mushroom (oyster) cultivation and vermicomposting in three batches of thirty each for ten working days.
According to the NABARD DDM, LEDP is an intensive training programme that can cover both agriculture and allied activities as well as rural off-farm sector activities in order to create sustainable livelihoods for SHG members and maximise the benefit of skill upgrade.
He further informed that there was provision for refresher training, backward-forward linkages; establishment of demonstration unit, need based critical infrastructure and handholding and escort supports.
