Nov 6, 2022, Guwahati: A commandant of the 4th Assam Police Task Force Battalion (APTF Bn) in Howly, Barpeta district of Assam, was immediately suspended for his negligence during his duty.
The suspended commandant has been identified as Mukut Rabha.
As per the reports, the incident of misfiring of Barpeta Satra Burha Sattriya Basistha Dev Sarma held on October 24 reflects the irresponsible behavior of Mukut Rabha, APS, Commandant of the 4th APTF Bn, Howly, Barpeta.
The incident occurred during a recent visit of the Honourable Chief Minister to Barpeta, where some of the police rifles misfired during the gun salute causing great embarrassment to the dignitaries and all those present.
The Assam Governor stated that Shri Mukut Rabha is suspended from the Department for alleged neglect of duty pending suspension under 6 (1) (a) of the Assam Service (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1964.
