Rahul Gandhi sued under Copyright Act for using KGF song at Bharat Jodo Yatra

November 5, 2022, Bengaluru: Rahul Gandhi and two other members of Congress have been charged with violating Copyright Act by using two songs from a film without permission during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

A business partner of MRT Music, a Bangaluru-based music label, has filed a case against the Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Supriya Srinate and Jairam under the copyright act.
According to Kumar, “They copied the songs without our permission and used them in their videos for marketing purposes. They portrayed it as if it was their own.”

In the FIR, Rahul has been listed as the third accused which involves to the provisions of the Copyright and Information Technology Act and IPC Sections 120b (for criminal conspiracy), 403 (for dishonest misappropriation of property), and 465 (for forgery).
