Army Officer from Assam Passes Away in Ladakh from Extreme Cold

An Indian army officer from Assam is reported to have died tragically in Ladakh due to the extreme cold.

The incident was reported on January 23.

The army officer has reportedly been identified as Jaikhlong Mushahary. He was a resident of Banseria in Udalguri district’s Tangla.

The deceased served as a commission officer for the Rashtriya Rifles No. 31 in Ladakh.

Ladakh has reportedly been experiencing severe cold wave since the past few days, according to sources. Earlier on January 17, Drass Town had a temperature plunge of -29 degrees Celsius.

Kargil, however, reached -20.9 degrees Celsius, while Leh dropped to -15.6 degrees.
