Nov 13, 2022: On Sunday, in a shocking case of attempted homicide, a youth was attacked with a sharp weapon in broad daylight in Guwahati.
According to reports, the incident occurred in Guwahati’s Bamunimaidam neighbourhood. At Bamunimaidam market, an assailant allegedly attempted to slit a person’s throat with a razor blade.
Jitu Kalita, a resident of the city’s North Jyotinagar locality, was identified as the victim. Meanwhile, the assailant has been apprehended by Chandmari Police.
Officials identified the attacker as Jitumoni Kalita, a resident of Guwahati’s Kushalnagar. Police believe the attempted murder was driven by a feud between the two.
According to police, the two got into an argument over Rs 50. Both people engaged in the incident were in an inebriated condition.
The person has been taken into a hospital with injuries in the interim.
