May 29, 2023

Ahmedabad: The final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) scheduled for May 28 between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Gujarat Titans (GT) has been postponed to May 29 (Monday), due to heavy rain.

The highly anticipated 2023 summit clash between the four-time winners CSK and the defending champions GT, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, faced an initial delay due to heavy rainfall.

However, the match is now set to commence at 7:30 pm today at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Approximately thirty minutes before the toss, the ground personnel promptly covered the middle of the pitch with two layers of sheets, along with the areas of run-ups for fast bowlers.

The downpour quickly escalated with the arrival of thunder and lightning, leaving the fans, who had gathered in significant numbers, no choice but to seek shelter and find refuge in the stands.
