Kokrajhar: To mark International Workers’ Day, a meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the District Judiciary in Kokrajhar on April 28 under the Beti Padao Beti Bachao Scheme.
The event was organized by DHEW in collaboration with various organizations including DCPU, DLSA, CWC, Labour Welfare Department, and OSC.
During the meeting, four crucial topics were discussed, including the eradication of child marriages in urban local bodies, legal services for disaster victims, legal services for workers in the unorganized sector, and gender-based violence and its reporting mechanisms.
Officials from various departments, including Social Welfare, DLSA, CWC, Kokrajhar Municipal Board, and Ward Commissioners, attended the meeting.
The meeting was attended by several key individuals, including Advocate Madhab Prasad Upadhyay, who represented the Secretary of DLSA, Joint Director cum CHD Labour Welfare Department KM Dev, Chairperson CWC Kokrajhar Malati Rani Narzary, DSWO cum DCPO Kokrajhar Gunindra Talukdar, Chairperson Kokrajhar Municipality Board Pratibha Brahma, as well as staff from DHEW, DLSA, DCPU, OSC, Bodoland Community Counseling Centre, and others.
