Kokrajhar: The Museum & Archaeology Department of the Government of BTR organized a one-day workshop on ‘Archaeology & Heritage Management (WAHM 2023)’ at the Conference Hall, Kokrajhar Planetarium, Dimalgaon today.
The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge of the students and promote awareness about the rich heritage of BTR.
The event witnessed elaborate discussions on a range of topics such as the significance of archaeological and historical sites, conservation techniques, and preservation methods.
Eminent speakers such as Dr. Manjil Hazarika, HoD, Dept. of Archaeology, Cotton University & Phanindra Talukdar, Pragjyotish Centre for Cultural Research, Guwahati delivered engaging speeches and shared their valuable insights on the importance of conserving the valuable heritage, monuments, and cultures.
The workshop also marked the inauguration of the dedicated website of the Kokrajhar Museum, which is a significant step towards moving to the current digital world.
The website will offer valuable insights on archaeology and heritage management and make information easily accessible to the public.
The initiative aims to promote awareness about the rich heritage of BTR and encourage the public to participate in its conservation.
BTR CEM Pramod Boro, President of BSS Dr. Surath Narzary, EM Reo Reoa Narzihary along with other eminent personalities were present at the event.
The workshop was a great success, and the participants left with enriched knowledge and a better understanding of the importance of preserving the valuable heritage, monuments, and cultures.
