March 20, 2023:
ALA Speaker Biswajit Daimary met with the ADC of Sandruk Jhongkhar district Bhutan on March 19.
In addition, he urged cooperation with the Bhutan administration on a proposal to use river water flowing through Bhutan to address a long-term drinking water deficit for residents of the Indo-Bhutan border region.
The project will cover vast areas of Panery’s northern constituency. River water flowing through Bhutan will be treated and distributed for drinking purposes under this project.
The source of the river is Bhutan, so the completion of the project requires the support of the Bhutanese administration.
The meeting was attended by members of the Indo Bhutan Friendship Association, MLA Jolen Daimary, Bijit Gwra Narzary, MCLA, DC Udalguri, and other officers.
