Nov 8, 2022: On Monday, just days before the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, a number of state congress leaders and members, including Dharampal Thakur Khand, a former general secretary of the Pradesh Congress Committee, joined the BJP.
Four days before the election, a total of 26 Congress party leaders resigned and joined the ruling BJP.With less than a week until the election, this comes as a major shock to the Congress party.
The leaders made the switch in the presence of Chief Minister Jairam Thakur and the BJP’s Sudhan Singh, who is in charge of BJP state elections. Sanjay Sood, a BJP candidate from Shimla, was also present.
As per ANI report, Former Congress Secretary Dharampal Thakur, Former Secretary Akash Saini, and others have joined the BJP.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur welcomed all BJP workers and said, “Let us work together for the historic victory of the party”
Himachal will vote on November 12, and the results will be announced on December 8.
